I've used a lot of kitchens - one of the perils of the student lifestyle in which I move every year or two. My favourites tend to be small kitchens it's nice to have the space in a big one but in the end it actually slows me down because I spend more time walking around to get things! My mother's kitchen is so small that she can have almost everything within arms' length: a rack of spices on the wall, worktops either side of the stove, and the store cupboards and fridge just beside her. However big you make a kitchen, it's rarely comfortable for two people to work at once unless they are very good at communicating (and, preferably, both working on the same dish), so I'd rather have a small one, and take turns with my house-mates to cook alone. Adding the addition would protect the pipes and make the kitchen much warmer. On the second floor the bathrooms are also too small and need updating. The second floor of the addition could be used to enlarge and renovate the hall and master bathrooms. The current shower/tub in the hall bathroom would be converted to a shower area. The master bathroom currently does not contain a bath tub, only a shower stall. The area of the new addition on the second floor would contain a bath tub for each bathroom.
When I was a kid, I would always love those hot summer days when I did not have to go to school, and I could spend the entire day with my friends. My present house is enough for comfortable living. But I would like to make a few changes if I had money. The first thing is that the bare ground around the house will be changed to a beautiful lawn and garden, complete with one of those wonderful pop up gazebos. I would tint the window glasses and repaint the house in dark colors and add a south Indian style wooden recliner bench fixed to the sitout wall. I would like to add a modern kitchen cabinet and also add a wardrobe and air conditioner in each room. The prominent walls will be decorated with nice paintings having natural scenarios. The interior of the house will be decorated with artificial flowers and an aquarium. The living room will be lighted with fancy colored bulbs and the bedrooms ceilings will be decorated with reflective sticker backgrounds. The exterior walls will be decorated with designer wall tiles which have a bamboo style design. The roof will also be tiled for keeping the interior cool.
