I'm a bit of a handyman - my job entails me driving around in my van (with its various van racking and accessories) doing painting and decorating for a number of my clients. And so I do like to make plans for my own property in terms of DIY.
My house has a two story back extension which is about a 10 feet by 8 with a flat roof. I have long wished to create a roof garden on top of this back extension with access from my first foor landing via a spiral staircase in the atic and then through dorma french windows into the roof garden. I think there would be just sufficient space to for a table and two chairs surrounded with pot plants. In the summer my partner and I could eat our breakfast and dinner alfresco and enjoy the views across the rooftops of the hundreds of victorian style house that surround us. In the distance we could view the impresive City of London skyline and in the foreground we would see our beautiful local park. One day I hope this little dream will come true. all I need to do is save hard and just maybe it will.
