When It Comes to Fishing, Some Baits Work, Some Certainly Do Not!

posted on 13 March 2011 | posted in Recreation and Hobbies

From the time immemorial, lots of people have been catching fish either for the sake of fun as a hobby or for ones’ livelihood. And there are lots and lots of ways of doing the fishing. You can fish with a rod, line and hook. Even the modern innovations like the rod with a reel are available. And of course, there's the bait - like carp fishing tackle.

Certainly I have done and still do fishing. It is done more for the sake of fun, making it enjoyable to me as a hobby. I catch the salt water ‘black fish’ as known locally here in the coastal regions of Kerala, India. These fish are highly in demand and costly. Well, one could fry them or prepare the fish in hot spices as curry or even prepare the curry in the hot less spices. There was a time I had to float colorful flowers on the clean surface of the water so as to attract these fish. But to my surprise, a crowd of fish dashed towards these flowers and snatched them off! I got so embarrassed by this. Never again had I done that!
